How do I even begin to describe Venice? Aside from the endless views of the Grand canal and the number of gondola rides that pass by, it's as if you're walking inside a real-life watercolor painting.
It's my second time in Venice, but the Venetian charm has stayed. After a tiring 16-hour flight from Manila, we started exploring Venice on our own with no itineraries, and no tour guides. The idea of getting lost along the narrow alleyways wasn't a problem since it was another way of exploring hidden restaurants and shops. We just stayed away from the crowded areas as much as possible. I was running with only a few hours of sleep but it was effortless for Venice to keep my energy up with picturesque views left and right. I ended up taking photos of everything that I saw, thus the number of photos that are a part of this entry. I just had to share them.
For those asking, we chose Casa Sant' Andrea for our overnight stay in the island (thank you RDV Voyage!) It's a good hotel to stay in since it is near the Vaporetto water bus station and the main highway. Also, if you're planning to get on a cruise, this is the nearest hotel to where the ship is docked. They serve bread, cheese, a couple of fruits, cereals and ham for breakfast. Overall a good hotel for its price.
If you look closely, you will see a bottle carried by the water. Even with the beauty of Venice, the number of tourists that come by every year tend to forget to keep the area clean. Let's all keep Venice clean.
Sadly, even during my second time, I wasn't able to ride the gondola. The line was so long! For those who plan to take the gondola, a ride costs 80 euros.
This is a landscape view of Venice from the cruise.
This is one of the best things that Piazza San Marco has to offer -- my very own Cafe! Just kidding, it's actually a Cafe with the same name as me! I just had to visit the place, even if that meant paying another 10 euros for the service charge.
This is the Florian ice cream. My favorite in the world because it has my name on it.
I absolutely enjoy going back again and again in Venice! The vibe of the town is absolutely gorgeous and the endless views of the Grand Canal are majestic!
